Ilana Forchheimer, M.D.
A board certified ophthalmologist, Dr. Forchheimer specializes in comprehensive ophthalmological care, including the diagnosis and treatment of dry eye and blepharitis, cataracts, glaucoma, and diabetic eye disease. She received a Bachelor of Science from Cornell University, and earned her medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where she was a member of the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. Upon completion of her degree, she completed one year of internship in internal medicine at Beth Israel Medical Center in Manhattan, followed by a residency in ophthalmology at New York University, where she served as chief resident. Dr. Forchheimer, born and raised in Smithtown, then returned to Long Island to practice medicine in her hometown.
Outside of the office, Dr. Forchheimer enjoys spending time with her husband Dan and her 2 children. She is an avid New York Yankees fan and loves trying new restaurants.
