A board certified ophthalmologist, Dr Sheren is currently an associate examiner for the American Board of Ophthalmology as well as a clinical instructor at SUNY-SB.

After his undergraduate education at Rutgers University, Dr. Sheren earned his medical degree cum laude from SUNY Health Science Center College of Medicine in Syracuse, where he was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. His post-doctoral training included an internal medicine internship at The Staten Island Hospital followed by an ophthalmology residency at Washington University-Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, MO. where he served as chief resident.

Dr. Sheren has over 25 years of experience in cataract and implant surgery, and is interested in all aspects of cataract surgery particularly more complex cataract surgery. He uses advanced technology to minimize his patient's dependence on eyeglasses after surgery. His practice also includes glaucoma microsurgery and the comprehensive management of patients with multiple eye diseases.
At Peconic Bay Medical Center, Dr. Sheren serves as director of the Robert Merriam Rogers Center for Eye Surgery, as well as President of the Medical Staff, and Chair of the credentials committee.

Dr. Sheren serves on the Board of Directors of Peconic Bay Medical Center, and is a former board member of the East End Health Alliance. He is Chair of the East End Physician Hospital Organization.

Outside the office, Dr. Sheren enjoys tai chi, hiking, bicycling and spending time with his wife and daughters.
